Deputies seek help to identify a man they say stole a car from a Florence dealership

FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) – Investigators seek help to identify a suspect they say stole a car from a dealership.

The suspect broke into the service area of a car dealership at 3704 East Palmetto Street and stole a new 2019 silver Kia Sorento on Saturday at about 3:30 p.m., according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy in the area shortly after the theft occurred spotted the car and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the suspect led the deputy on a pursuit into Darlington County. The pursuit was called off. 

The suspect was captured on the dealership’s video surveillance camera is attached. He appears to be a white male with blond or reddish blond hair and a beard or goatee, and appears to be wearing blue and white plaid shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Deputies also believe the suspect may be associated with a black in color late model 5.0 liter Mustang with dark rims.
