DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – A Darlington man has been sentenced after crack cocaine was sold to an undercover operative in 2017.
Codie Oswalt Bell, 37, of Darlington, pleaded guilty on Monday to assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and distribution of crack cocaine, third offense, a press release from the 4th Circuit Solicitor’s Office said.
The assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature case “arose from the stabbing of Patrick Frazier in October 2018,” the release said. “The drug case arose out of the sale of crack cocaine to an undercover operative in August 2017.”
A judge sentenced Bell to concurrent sentences of 13.5 years for each charge.
“Bell has three prior convictions for drug offenses ranging from possession to distribution,” the release stated. “These cases were prosecuted by Assistant Solicitor Adam M. Foard and investigated by Darlington Police Department and Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.”
