Darlington Co. deputies release photos of person believed to be involved in Darlington Co. homicide

HARTSVILLE AREA, SC (WBTW) – Darlington County deputies have released photos of a person believed to be involved in a homicide. 

Investigators with the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office released photos from a store’s surveillance system “showing a person and vehicle they believe were involved,” a press release from the DCSO said. The homicide happened around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Darlington County Coroner J. Todd Hardee said a man died after a shooting incident in the Pine Ridge area. The man’s death has been ruled a homicide. 

A man was pronounced dead at the intersection of Old Camden Rd. and Highway 151 around noon Sunday from an apparent gunshot, according to Hardee. The man’s death has been ruled a homicide and an autopsy is scheduled for next week.

Lt. Robby Kilgo, with the DCSO, said deputies are investigating a shooting that happened at a home on Blanding Dr. around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. 

Kilgo also said deputies were dispatched to a home on N. Center Rd. around 8 a.m. Sunday for a person found dead. Deputies also responded to the Markette Convenience store at the corner of W. Bobo Newsom Hwy. and W. Old Camden Rd. around 11:30 a.m. due to a shooting.  

Hardee identified the man who died as Desmond Coe, 24, of Hartsville. 

The Darlington County Coroner’s Office, Darlington County Sheriff’s Office and SLED are investigating.
