BENNETTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – A man has been arrested in connection to a shooting in Bennettsville.
Officers responded to the 900 block of West Main Street around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday for a shooting, according to Lt. Larry Turner, with Bennettsville police.
William Scott has been charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, domestic violence- 2nd degree and kidnapping.
Lt. Turner said based on preliminary findings, investigators believe Scott and a woman were involved in a domestic dispute, which resulted in the shooting of a person trying to intervene.
Scott remains in the Marlboro County Detention Center and awaits a bond hearing.
