BENNETTSVILLE, S.C. (WBTW) — Two people were shot Monday morning at the Marlboro Court Apartments, according to Bennettsville Police Department Lt. Larry Turner.

Detectives with Bennettsville Police Department arrested Johnathan Jenkins and charged him with four counts of attempted murder, discharging a weapon into motor vehicle, and the possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Police said Jenkins fired multiple shots into the vehicle the victims were inside, and then fled on foot to an apartment at Marlboro Manor.

As the SWAT team got to the scene, Jenkins exited the building and was taken into custody without incident, police said.

The victims were taken to the hospital to be treated. Jenkins is currently in the Marlboro County Detention Center awaiting bond.
