NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A woman reported that she was sexually assaulted Monday night outside a North Myrtle Beach hotel, according to a police report.

Officers responded to The Wyndham hotel, located at 403 S. Ocean Blvd., around 9:56 p.m. on Monday in reference to a woman being sexually assaulted, according to a police report from the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety. Upon arriving, officers spoke with the woman, who reportedly said she was walking on the beach side sidewalk in front of the hotel when a black man, wearing a ski mask, grabbed her, pulled her into the alley, and sexually assaulted her while putting a gun to her head.

The report said the woman was unable to see the suspect’s face because of the ski mask, but believed he was in his late 20s, medium height, and heavy set.

A person reportedly walked by, saw what was happening, and the suspect allegedly grabbed the woman’s phone and threw it to the side, the report said. The suspect then allegedly ran towards Ocean Blvd. in an unknown direction.

According to a report, a man stated that he was walking on the sidewalk in front of the hotel when he saw people in the bushes and heard the woman yell that she knew that man and he was sexually assaulting her. The suspect then allegedly said he wasn’t touching the woman and let go of her. The man was reportedly unsure of what direction the suspect went. 911 was then called and the man remained on the scene.

The report said the suspect was wearing dark gym shorts, a neon yellow graphic tee shirt, and a black beanie/ski mask.

According to Pat Dowling, with the City of North Myrtle Beach, no arrests have been made.

Dowling said he thinks the suspect may be in the Main Street area. If anyone thinks they known him, they are asked to call the NMB Dept. of Public Safety. The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
