MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A man charged with kidnapping and armed robbery in Myrtle Beach was denied bond on Friday.

Police said they identified Kevin Donte Brown, 28, of Surfside Beach, as the suspect by a palm print he left on a display case and by security video.

“I’m just not comfortable issuing bond on this case,” Judge Glenn V. Ohanesian said on Friday. “I’m going to deny bond on the armed robbery and kidnapping charges. “

Police say Brown robbed a victim at gunpoint for $700 at Manta Ray Beach Shop, 1708 South Ocean Boulevard, on Wednesday. The victim was told to get on the ground and count to 100. “I got your info. I got killers, don’t call the cops or you’re dead,” Brown said, according to the report.

Brown fled before officers arrived, police said. “Thanks to hard work from our investigations team and with assistance from our community, Brown was identified as the subject involved,” said Cpl. Thomas Vest.

Brown remains in jail, charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
