MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Police have charged a Myrtle Beach man with stealing an ambulance from a hospital ER where he had been taken for evaluation.
Robert Tyler Reeves, 32, stole the ambulance from the Grand Strand Medical Center ER after he had been brought in by Horry County Police for evaluation, according to the police report. Myrtle Beach police officers were able to stop Reeves while he was still in the parking lot of the hospital.
Horry County police were called and transported Reeves back into the emergency room and restrained him while hospital staff attempted to check his wellbeing, police said. Five victims in the incident all wanted to press charges, according to the report.
Reeves has been charged with assault and battery, first degree, three counts of kidnapping and grand larceny 10,000 or more.
Reeves was booked and given a $50,000 bond. He was in Horry County Police custody while being evaluated by medical personnel as of Tuesday afternoon.
