NICHOLS, SC (WBTW) – A judge has modified conditions for a former Horry County Sheriff’s Office corrections officer indicted in the 2018 van drowning case to work in NC.

A judge modified conditions for Stephen Flood to go to North Carolina for work purposes only, according to 12th Circuit Solicitor Ed Clements. The judge reportedly thought the request to modify bond for Flood was reasonable.

On Monday, a grand jury indicted Flood and former corrections officer Joshua Bishop in the 2018 van drowning case.

In April, News13 reported that a judge found probable cause in the cases against Flood and Bishop.

Flood, the van’s driver, and Bishop, the passenger, had preliminary hearings in a Marion County courtroom on April 8.

Flood and Bishop previously appeared before a Marion County judge after turning themselves in to the Marion County Detention Center in January.

In November, News13 obtained disciplinary reports for Flood and Bishop.

The employments of Flood and Bishop were terminated on Oct. 24.
