MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Police in Myrtle Beach arecharging a woman accused of throwing a knife at a man’s face, his back, and slashing his arm.

According to a police report, the stabbing happened on Pridgen Road on Tuesday. Officers were called to reports of a possible stabbing nearby on 9th Avenue South. When they arrived, they found the victim being treated for a cut on his arm by EMS.

According to an incident report, the victim told police he did not want to get the suspect in trouble. At that time, the victim refused to tell officers where the incident took place but did say someone threw a knife at him.

Dominique Janae Wood was arrested and charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.

The officers traced the incident back to Pridgen Road, and according to the police report, the victim told them he would “plead the fifth”when they asked if Wood stabbed him. The victim was taken to the hospital while officers secured the apartment where it allegedly happened.

According to the police report, officers found a trail of blood from a set of stairs to the front door. That’s when they conducted a protective sweep and secured the scene and asked for a search warrant.

While the officers were searching the apartment, the victim came back home and told the officers he had hidden the knife because he didn’t want Wood to find it and use it against him again. He went on to say the suspect attacked him several times with the knife.

According to the report, the victim told police he and Wood got into an argument over $5 being taken from a change jar. He told officers Wood went downstairs and he could hear silverware moving around. He told officers he barricaded himself in a bedroom when Wood came back with a knife in her hand.

The victim told officers Wood tried to cut his feet with the knife through the crack between the bottom of the door and the floor, according to the report. The report also says Wood cut herself and went back downstairs to get tissues.

The victim says Wood came back upstairs with the knife and he had to lock himself in the bedroom again. At some point during the fight, the victim says he told Wood he would come out of the room if she calmed down and put the knife down. The victim says he then opened the door and tried to run to the back door to escape.

According to the report, that’s when Wood threw the knife at the victim’s back and he was hit with the handle. The victim kept running. The victim told police Wood grabbed the knife again and threw it at his face, where the handle hit him again. This time the knife bounced off his face and slashed his arm, according to the report. The victim told police he took the knife this time and hid it behind the apartment complex.

The report says quote, “Based on the totality of the circumstances of her chasing him through the home, trying to cut him from underneath a door, throwing a knife at his body and head multiple times and eventually striking him in the arm; at this time a warrant will be sought for domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.”

We checked with the Myrtle Beach police department. According to a spokesperson with the department, Wood is still in custody at the Myrtle Beach jail.
