LORIS, SC (WBTW) – A child was shot in a drive-by shooting in Loris overnight, police say.

The shooting happened shortly before midnight on Thursday in the 2300 block of Highway 746, according to Lt. Thomas DelPercio, with the Horry County Police Department. The child injured was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

No suspects have been identified and an investigation is ongoing.

Horry County police and HCFR responded to the 2300 block of Hwy. 746 near Log Cabin Road around 11:30 p.m. for reports of a 5-year-old injured by shots fired into a home, according to Mikayla Moskov, with HCPD. The child has injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

An incident report from Horry County Police says the home had multiple gunshot holes across it.
