MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The man killed in a Myrtle Beach shooting has been identified as 23-year-old Quashaun Cliffton Bromell, of Myrtle Beach, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.
Officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department responded to the shooting Monday night outside at 100 North Kings Highway. Cpl. Tom Vest with Myrtle Beach Police says the call came in at around 10 p.m.
“Officers located the victim in a vehicle that was stopped in the roadway”, Cpl. Vest told News13. “The investigation up to this point indicates that the shooting happened inside the vehicle and two males fled from the scene after the shooting. Another occupant of the vehicle was not injured.”
The injured person was taken to the hospital with what were described as ‘severe gunshot injuries’, and later died at the hospital.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim during this time,” Chief Prock said in a news release. “We are committed to holding the person or persons responsible for this act of violence accountable.”
So far no arrests have been made in this case.

Bromell had an extensive criminal history, according to the Horry County Public Index.
He was arrested in early December, and faced gun and drug charges from that incident. At that time, police said they found guns, drugs and more than 350 live ammunition rounds at a home in Conway. That home, located on Hemingway Street, matches the address previously listed for Bromell on the Horry County Public Index.
In June of 2019, Bromell was arrested and charged with 13 crimes including attempted armed robbery, kidnapping, throwing of bodily fluids by a prisoner on a corrections employee and escape, according to J. Reuben Long Detention Center booking records.
In August of 2018, Bromell was accused of being the driver in a vehicle chase involving police. He was wanted at that time on multiple charges including ‘possess, conceal, sell, or dispose of a stolen vehicle with a value of $10,000 or more’.
