CONWAY AREA, SC (WTBW) – Four people were arrested after a stolen vehicle chase in Horry County.
On May 24 around 7:30 p.m., an Horry County police officer was working in the area of Highway 501 when he heard an alert for a stolen car, according to a press release from the Horry County Police Department. The officer found the car and attempted a traffic stop. Those inside the car allegedly fled and a chase began.
The car entered the Clear Pond subdivision, located off Gardner Lacy Road, and was ditched near the subdivision’s amenities center, and the suspects allegedly run into nearby woods, the report said. Three suspects were caught “almost immediately” and a fourth suspect was located around midnight hiding in a home under construction in the neighborhood.
Those arrested include:
- Devyon Brown
- Jutwa Hollingsworth
- Santos Linares-Castro
- Daquan Wright
All have been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle valued at $5,000 or more, the release also said. Hollingsworth has also been charged with financial transaction card fraud of more than $500 in a six-month period and Linares-Castro has been charged with failure to stop for blue lights.
