CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Horry County police have charged one person in connection with the shooting that left a pair of brothers from Longs dead, the department says.
Tiyen Shabaz Stockdale, 20, of Longs, is charged with two counts of murder and one of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
On Monday morning, Stockdale waived his right to see a judge and didn’t make a first appearance, according to a News13 crew who was at Stockdale’s scheduled court appearance. He will appear before a judge at a later date.
Horry County police say Stockdale fatally shot Tavon Livingston, 26, and Shamon Livingston, 25. Officers responded to the area of Highway 90 and Melissa Lane around 2:45 a.m. Saturday in reference to this shooting.
That’s where officers say they found the two brothers dead.
A third person was also reported injured. Highway 90 was closed for several hours while detectives investigated the scene.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing and that additional charges are possible.
An incident report from HCPD says officers responded to 8354 Highway 90 on March 7 in reference to a death investigation, where it was determined “that a verbal argument had taken place” between three victims.
“The verbal argument escalated and ultimately a shooting transpired,” the incident report also says. “At that time Horry County Criminal Investigation Department was notified and assumed the investigation.”
Warrants obtained by News13 allege Stockdale “did participate in shooting of the victims without just cause and with malice aforethought, causing the victims death.”
