CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Conway Police have made an arrest in the shooting Sunday that sent one man to the hospital.
According to Lt. Selena Small with the department, officers responded to shots fired in the area of Highway 501 and Racepath Street in Conway around 2:18 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, officers located a man lying on the ground near Racepath Street suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to the Grand Strand Hospital for treatment.
Lt. Small says officers arrested Curtis Jamar Scott, 37, of Conway, and charged him with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, unlawful possession of a firearm, and assault while resisting arrest. Scott was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 6:50 a.m. Sunday morning and remains incarcerated at the time of this posting.
