ATLANTA (WIAT) — Last but certainly not least to take the podium on Day 1 of SEC Media Days was LSU.
Head coach Ed Orgeron, senior tight end Foster Moreau, junior linebacker Devin White and junior defensive end Rashard Lawrence all spoke at SEC Media Days.
The LSU players, while focused on football, weren’t afraid to share a few personal details with the media.
Moreau spoke about being a leader–and assured the media that yes, his bowtie is real, and he tied it himself! Apparently bowties have been part of his signature style since middle school, and when trying to decide between a tie with a Windsor knot or a bow tie, he went with his go to.
Devin White was excited to share his passion for his horses–he has seven. He says they’re a big part of his daily routine and ability to keep his head in the game, explaining that he goes to the barn every day.
Rashard Lawrence said one thing to know about him is that he’s a man of few words–until you put a camera in his face, that is. He said he hopes one day to have a career in media. We also learned that his favorite class is history, and his least favorite is math.
Of course, no Media Days story can end without talking about the coach. Head coach Ed Orgeron talked about the addition of Jimbo Fisher to the conference and what that brings to the recruiting competition. He discussed LSU’s losses to Alabama over the past six years, and how they’ll approach the match up this year.
