Myrtle Beach, SC (WBTW) – After nearly 2 weeks on the road due to Hurricane Florence, the Coastal Carolina football team is trying to get back into a regular routine. The guys are back in state working out, but have had to use Myrtle Beach High School’s facilities and stay in hotels near the beach until campus opens back up this weekend.
Running back Marcus Outlow said:
“It’s really a tragedy and it’s really sad to see what those people are going through but you know every day we come out here and we put in the work to win games for the community and for them and you know we are out here grinding and working our butts off to make sure that we give them some sort of inspiration and some sort of hope.”
Linebacker Silas Kelly added:
“Obviously a situation like that comes with adversity, we had to drive to practice we had to lift at high schools and all kinds of stuff but coach Moglia always says adapt and adjust and that’s what we did and we feel like we made the most of our time out there.”
The team travels to Troy, AL on Saturday for a 3:30pm kickoff, the Chants will look for their 4th straight win in the process. The team won just 3 games in 2017.
