CONWAY – Dozens of fans, supporters, and workers at Coastal Carolina wished the CCU baseball team well as they were sent off in style to the NCAA Regionals in Atlanta. This afternoon the team was greeted by folks before they boarded their charter bus and were escorted off campus by police and firetrucks before their journey westward. Coastal won the Sun Belt Baseball tournament on Sunday over Georgia Southern 9-7 in Conway capping off 5 wins in a 4-day span to qualify for the NCAA regionals.
They will face Auburn on Friday at noon from Georgia Tech University, Florida A&M and the host GT Yellow Jackets make up the 4 team regionals.
