Elisia Alonso was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She graduated from Western Michigan University in 2015 with a journalism major and gender and women studies minor.
After graduating, Elisia landed her first TV job at WOOD TV8 in Grand Rapids, the leading station in Grand Rapids and a top 40 market. In her four years there she worked as a live photographer, production assistant, assignment editor, and live desk reporter. Elisia broke several stories including, but not limited to, the Ashley Young murder and dismemberment case in 2018.
Elisia’s favorite part of her job is having the opportunity to tell people’s stories. She enjoys that every day is different and brings new challenges.
When Elisia is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, long visits at the beach, and eating good food at local restaurants.
