Chris Spiker joined WBTW News 13 in January 2018 as a multimedia journalist. He reports on weekday nights in the Myrtle Beach area.
Chris comes to the Grand Strand after working as a reporter and fill-in anchor/producer at a news station in Watertown, New York, for two years. Before that, he was an executive producer and fill-in anchor at KFYR-TV in Bismarck, North Dakota, for more than a year.
Chris graduated with bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Spanish from St. Bonaventure University in western New York in 2014. At St. Bonaventure, Chris was a news and sports reporter for SBU-TV, the on-campus television station. He also created his own pregame show for Bonnies basketball games in 2014. Chris also ran for the NCAA Division I cross country team at St. Bonaventure. He also worked for WSBU 88.3 FM and The Bona Venture, the school’s official newspaper. He’s a diehard Bonnies basketball fan and enjoys watching them as much as he can!
Chris is originally from Brooklyn, Connecticut. When he’s not working, he enjoys running, watching sports and traveling. He’s also getting used to the sand instead of the snow!
