A woman has been arrested and charged in a deadly hit and run involving a moped in Florence.

Lauren Alexis Green turned herself into the Florence Police Department on Monday, according to a press release from the FPD. Green faces two charges of leaving the scene resulting in death in reference to the crash. She was taken to the Florence County Detention Center.

Officers were able to locate a silver Chevy Malibu involved in the crash and identified Green as the driver, the release also said. 

Officers from the FPD responded Saturday morning to Lucas Street, near Ogden Street, for a deadly hit and run traffic collision involving a moped. 

According to Lt. Mike Brandt, the crash happened at around 3:15 a.m. Saturday. Two people who were riding the moped were killed in the crash.

The Florence County coroner said Terod Tyrice Williams, 38, and Edward Lawrence Beck, 50, died in the crash. Both were from Florence.

The crash remains under investigation by the FPD and the Florence County Coroner’s Office.
