Lexington, SC – A man accused of killing two local soldiers at a bar along Lake Murray has been denied bond.

Joseph Mills, 25, went before a judge Monday afternoon on charges that he killed 40-year-old Staff Sergeant Charles Allen Judge Jr. and 29-year-old Sergeant First Class Jonathan Michael Prins at the Frayed Knot, a bar and restaurant on Dreher Island Road.

Early Sunday morning, deputies say Mills was fighting with a woman, and Prins and Judge attempted to break it up peacefully. However, investigators say Mills shot the men, then left the scene.

Mills was arrested Sunday afternoon
