CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – Federal authorities say an airline passenger accused of threatening and assaulting flight attendants will appear in court next week.
A spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office says a hearing for 30-year-old Michael Kerr of Monroe is scheduled for Monday.
An affidavit says Kerr was on an American Airlines flight last week from Lexington, Kentucky, that landed at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
It says Kerr threatened to break one flight attendant’s jaw and kicked and shoved another to the floor after they told him to remain seated. The affidavit also says the pilot and co-pilot helped restrain Kerr.
He’s charged with interference with the performance or duties of flight attendants.
Federal officials say he’s being detained until his hearing. It wasn’t clear if he has an attorney.
