CHARLESTON, S.C. — A janitor at E.B. Ellington Elementary School is facing charges after stealing iPads from the Charleston County School District, totaling $15,000.
Marshall Scott is charged with grand larceny.
Authorities say the theft happened sometime between May 31 and July 27.
Someone told police the stolen iPads were being sold in Hollywood. The district’s IT department placed a lock on the devices so when they connect to the internet, they become disable, and send GPS coordinates to the school.
One person returned to the school after realizing where it came from.
