NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety is working to raise money for the Special Olympics at a local Krispy Kreme.
The event, called COPS on Donut Shops, runs from Wednesday August 3 to Friday August 5 at 1300 Highway 17 South in North Myrtle Beach.
“Their joy is so infectious, and if you want to get sold on the Special Olympics and what it actually means to these kids and their families, just talk to a family member and just how passionate they are about the program and how the program is like a family to them,” special events officer Lieutenant Dana Griffin said.
The event flyer says that a donation from $1 to $19 earns you a free donut coupon, and with a $20 donation, you receive a coupon for a free dozen donuts and a 2016 SC Law Enforcement Torch Run t-shirt.
