CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — The Charleston Police Department is investigating after a woman received a hate message referencing admitted Charleston Church shooter Dylann Roof.
According to an incident report, the woman reported the letter to the Charleston Police Department on Monday, August 1. She told investigators that she got the letter out of the mailbox on July 11 but just decided to turn it over to police.
We’re told the post card inside the envelope had a mosque-like drawing with the number 1488. “CHARLESTON – THE SEQUEL – COMING SOON TO A MOSQUE NEAR YOU ONLESS ROFF IS RELEASED” was under the drawing, according to the incident report.
The envelope did not have a return address or name on it.
No arrest have been made in the incident. Authorities say the letter has since been turned into evidence.
