HARTSVILLE, S.C. (WBTW) – This growing season in Hartsville is a little different than last year.
Hartsville public information officer Rebecca Edwards says an increase in thunderstorms and truck maintenance caused a slower response to pick up fallen branches and tree limbs.
“We’ve seen some delays in our yard debris pickup,” Edwards said.
Edwards adds, “It’s always a struggle for anyone to keep up with the volume especially during growing season. I think everything being coupled and hitting us all at once it’s just been more significant.”
City Officials say one way to make the public works department aware of your pick up needs is to download the SeeClickFix app.
The app allows users to report non emergencies like, debris is by tagging the location and taking a picture. Then it immediately reports the information to the appropriate department.
“Residents can report non- emergency issues, you can tag the, um, street address as well as take a picture of the issue and it will go to the appropriate department and we’ll work on solving that. We’ll also keep in communication saying we’ve logged it, we’re in contact with, um, whoever we need to be in contact with we’ve gone on site to check it out. It’s just a good way to keep in contact about these issues,”
