Crews resume search for missing swimmer on Intracoastal Waterway

MURRELLS INLET, SC (WBTW) – Horry County Fire Rescue said it pulled its Marine Rescue/Dive Team from the search for a missing swimmer.

The department said on Twitter it hopes to resume the search Monday morning.

Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire Rescue and SC Department of Natural Resources are still active on the scene near Wacca Wache landing.

On Facebook, Horry County Fire Rescue said the department’s Marine Rescue/Dive Team responded to the call near mile marker 53 of the Intracoastal Waterway.

The call was dispatched by Horry County 911 around 5:40 p.m. Sunday. The U.S. Coast Guard is also assisting with the search.
