MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a minivan Wednesday night on 501 near the Tanger Outlets.
Lance Cpl. Matt Southern with SC HP says it happened around 9:15 p.m. when the victim was trying to cross highway 501 and was hit by a minivan traveling north on the highway.
Southern says the victim was pronounced dead on the scene. According to Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden, the victim was identified Thursday as Randy Keith Hutchins, 59, from Columbus, Georgia.
The SC Highway Patrol is investigating.
