ST. LOUIS — A 102-year-old woman was arrested and the reason why may surprise you.
Eddie Simms was taken into custody to fulfill a bucket list wish.
She’d never been inside a police car her entire life, so on Friday police showed up to her five star senior center and took her in.
Going to jail isn’t the only thing Simms is interested in; she also enjoys doing community service.
Last year, the 102-year-old sewed more than 400 handmade item for others at her senior center.
“I spend some time doing community service because sometimes the people that you reach out and touch is the only person that they will talk to in a day,” Simms said.CBS North Carolina contributed to this report.
