FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – The Florence Police Department will host a National Drug Take-Back Initiative collection on Saturday.
According to the department, prescription drugs will be collected at West Florence High School, located at 221 Beltline Dr., and First Baptist Church, located at 300 S. Irby St.
The collection sites will be open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
“This is an excellent opportunity to bring your pills for disposal, prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs,” Lt. Mike Brandt, spokesman for the Florence Police Department, said.
The DEA can not accept liquids, needles or sharps during the collection day. It will only accept patches and pills. The service, according to organizers, is free and anonymous.
The Florence Police Department is hosting the event in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
