MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – On Friday, a few lucky kids were able to enjoy a special Halloween treat at Medieval times in the Fantasy Harbour area as News13 partnered with Medieval Times for the annual “Treats for Special Kids.”
The event gives special needs children a safe, barrier-free environment to go trick or treating.
Volunteers dressed up and handed out candy and the knights and royalty put on a show for all who came out.
“Anytime that you’re dealing with special needs you also want to make sure that it’s a very controlled safe environment. You do ever want to overstimulate anybody. We want to make sure we provide a fun and safe environment,” Medieval Times spokesperson Amanda Mateo said.
In addition to Medieval Times about 50 local business throughout the region also participated.
