FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – According to election results from the Associated Press, incumbent Kenney Boone defeated Jody Lynch to continue on as the Florence County Sheriff.
Boone received 57 percent of the vote while Lynch received 43 percent with 60 of 63 precincts reporting.
Kenney Boone has been the Sheriff of Florence County for the past 12 years.
In an interview with News13, Boone said that if he was re-elected, he hoped to expand the agency’s independence by adding forensic ballistics and DNA testing.
