CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – On Saturday, Officers with Horry County police responded to an armed robbery call at the Dollar General Store in Conway.

According to Lt. Raul Denis with Horry County police, the robbery happened around 9:15 p.m. at the location on Highway 905.

Officers says  three men approached a man sitting in a parked car and forced the man to approach the locked store door, at gunpoint, and ask the employees inside to open it.

After one of the employees opened the door,  the suspects immediately pointing guns at the employee and demanded money.

Investigators say the men left the store and were spotted on Hwy 905 by officer who initiated a traffic stop.

Denis says the suspects threw the money out of the car window before they were arrested, but it was recovered and returned.

Three 21-year-old men from Conway, Carl T. Jordan, Malik N. Sherman and Jarrell L. James were charged with kidnapping, armed robbery, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Police say that Sherman was also charged with possession of cocaine in addition to the other charges.

Sherman was released Sunday on a $50,000 bond.

Jordan and James are currently being held at the J Reuben Long Detention Center under $45,000 bonds.
