DUNN, NC— A toddler girl was kidnapped from a truck stop in Harnett County on Saturday night, Dunn police said.

The incident was reported around 8:53 p.m. at Love’s Truck Stop just off I-95 at 3948 Hodges Chapel Road, according to Dunn police, who are investigating the incident. An Amber Alert has not been issued because police do not believe the little girl is in danger.

Officers say Jada Caldwell, 2, was taken.

Jada is 2 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 50 pounds, according to police. She was wearing a black sweat suit with black Jordan sneakers.

Jada is possibly with Mazda Dixon, 33, police said. Police believe she is the Jada’s father’s girlfriend. The three were heading home from South Carolina to Baltimore together, according to police. Police believe Dixon took the vehicle, with the child in it, and left the child’s father stranded at the truck stop.

Dixon is described as a black female, with light skin, red hair and was wearing a purple hoodie, a long black overcoat and blue jeans, police said.

Dixon was last seen driving a rental SUV described as a silver Dodge Journey.

Police are working with the FBI, Baltimore law enforcement and other officials. Since he returned to Baltimore, Jada’s father, Devontae Caldwell has stopped returning officers’ phone call, Dunn police said.
