CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Horry County is bringing back the Crimestoppers program. It’s an incentive for the public to help police departments solve crimes by providing information.

The program is anonymous and usually involves reward money. Crimestoppers used to be in Horry County but has been gone for about a decade.

“We want to reinvigorate this program,” said Horry County Police Chief, Joe Hill. “We think it’s good for the citizens of Horry County.”

The program is expected to begin in the next 60 days and will include all law enforcement in the region as well as Carolina Shields, a retired law enforcement organization.

Chief HIll said the Crimestoppers program will allow the public to help be officers’ “eyes and ears” in the community.
