An Horry County man with dementia who was previously reported missing has been found safe.

According to Mikayla Moskov, with Horry County police, Clyde Bennett Thompson has been found safe.

Thompson, 84, of Myrtle Beach, left his home around 12 p.m. on Sunday, police previously said. At the time he went missing, he was wearing a burgundy golf shirt and blue jeans.

Police said he was driving a Silver 2013 Ford Escape with S.C. tag JSZ-229. The family believed he may have been headed toward either family in Florida or West Columbia.
