News13 has obtained dashcam video showing an alleged DUI suspect slamming his car into another car in Surfside Beach.
The video shows the first car darting past a traffic light and onto Highway 17 at Surfside Drive, hitting the back of the second vehicle. Both cars then come to a rest as an officer traveling on Highway 17 pulls over to assist.
Police tell News13 that Joseph Patrick Taylor is now charged with felony driving under the influence resulting in great bodily injury. Booking records suggest he was booked just before 7 a.m. Monday.
Police say the vehicle that was hit had three people inside. It’s not clear how badly each person was hurt but at least one person was still in the hospital as of Tuesday.
