Some flooding and downed trees were seen after a tornado was confirmed in central North Carolina Friday night.
A 6:45 p.m., the tornado was eight miles southeast of Fuquay-Varina moving northeast at 30 mph, the National Weather Service said.
A tornado warning was issued until 7 p.m. for north-central Harnett County, southwestern Wake County, and southeastern Chatham County.
The tornado warning was allowed to expire at 7 p.m. Officials later said the tornado was confirmed by debris on radar and that it moved from Harnett County into Wake County.
Winds downed several trees along Cool Springs Road in Harnett County near the area where the tornado was confirmed.
Fallen trees also took down power lines and blocked Buckhorn-Duncan Road near Holly Springs in Wake County
The Town of Chapel Hill reported a large tree was down, blocking Virginia Drive.
In Chatham County, several trees were knocked down along Fall Creek Church Road near N.C. 902.
A flash flood warning was later issued until 9:30 p.m. for Durham County after about three inches of rain fell in a short period, according to the weather service.
Some flooding was also seen in Durham in the area of James Street at University Drive.
Also in Durham, flooding was seen at Hillandale Road and Sprunt Avenue and in an area of Morreene Road and American Drive.
Westover Road at U.S. 1 near Sanford was closed due to flooding.
About 100 power outages were reported, mostly in southwestern Wake County.
No injuries were reported.
