LUMBERTON, NC (WBTW) – A teenager was shot in the hand in Lumberton and another teen has been charged.
Officers were dispatched to a person shot in the area of 1st Street and Chippewa Street around 1:05 p.m. on Thursday, according to a press release from the Lumberton Police Department. Treyvon Mitchell, 17, was shot in his left hand and was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center. His injury is not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers later located a suspect and detained him, the release also said. A 15-year-old will be charged as a juvenile with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. His information will not be released.
