JOHNSONVILLE, SC (WBTW) – A special election for a vacant Johnsonville City Council seat was held on Tuesday.
Two candidates, Marie B. Haselden and Frankie Poston, were on the ballot.
According to David Alford, the Florence County Board of Elections Director, Haselden received 45 votes while Poston received 40. There was also one write-in vote.
As a result, Haselden is the unofficial winner. Results will be certified on Thursday.
The city council position was last held by Councilman Patrick Nettles, who died last month.
The term runs until 2021.
