MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Police in Horry county were forced to evacuate people from an apartment complex on Carolina Forest Boulevard.

A spokesperson for Horry County police tells News13 that officers and an area HAZMAT team were investigating a meth lab near Kent Lane in the Myrtle Beach area of the county. People were being told to avoid the area.

Police also evacuated people from building 607 in Canterbury Apartments.

Around noon, police said the situation had been resolved and community members could return to their normal activities.

Police along with Horry County Fire Rescue members responded. According to police, “Both departments have specially trained technicians skilled in handling these types of investigations, and additional hazmat resources have been called in to assist.”
