DILLON, SC (WBTW) – The City of Dillon has announced a new mayor pro tem following the suspension of mayor-elect Corey Jackson.

Dr. Phil Wallace was nominated for the city’s mayor pro tem during a city council meeting on Thursday.

“I know the ins-and-outs and the works of the city. I think it was, you know, not what I wanted but it’s a good decision to transition with someone that’s been here that long,” Wallace said. 

News13 was at the city council meeting. 

On Thursday, Dillon’s mayor-elect, Corey Jackson, was sworn in and suspended by Gov. McMaster following an indictment on sexual exploitation of a minor charges.
