CONWAY – The first CCU baseball player taken in the 2019 MLB draft was left-hand pitcher Anthony Veneziano. He was taken in the 10th round by the Kansas City Royals. Veneziano was one of the best on the staff this spring, getting 5 victories, mostly in a starting role and leading the team with 85 strikeouts. Day 3 of the MLB draft will take place on Wednesday starting at noon, with rounds 11-40 all take place.
Other CCU standouts like Zach Biermann, Kieton Rivers, Matt Eardensohn, Jake Wright, and others look to have their names called on Wednesday.
