DILLON, SC (WBTW) – A 79-year-old Latta man and his grandson were among three killed in a Dillon County crash Wednesday night.

Three people were killed in the two-vehicle car crash on Highway 38 in Dillon County.

According to Cpl. Sonny Collins with South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 9:35 p.m. Wednesday when a 2014 Ford 4-door car was traveling east on Hwy 38. The driver of the Ford crossed the center line, crashing head-on into an oncoming Cadillac about half a mile west of Westover Road.

Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley confirms David Berry, 79, of Latta, and his 30-year-old grandson, Phillip Berry, of Maryland, were in the Cadillac and both died of injuries sustained in the accident. Jessica Brooks, 34, of Bennettsville, was also killed in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by South Carolina Highway Patrol.
