FLORENCE (WBTW) – The Florence Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened on Blass Dr. in Florence.
According to Lt. Mike Brandt with the Florence Police Department, when police arrived, they found a woman who was shot in the home. She was taken to the hospital but later died from her injuries. Brandt adds that the suspect left the scene and was detained a short time later by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Police charged George R. McCall with Murder and Possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The Florence County Coroner says Amanda Robinson, 36, of Florence died in the shooting. An autopsy will be conducted Monday morning at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
