HARTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – Storms Thursday night flipped a mobile home in Darlington County.

The home was on Flinns Road in Hartsville and officials say an elderly couple was in the home at the time, but they are okay.

Darlington County Emergency Management coordinator Molly Odom said straight line winds were likely the cause.

According to Odom, emergency management did not request the National Weather Service to investigate any further.

One neighbor and his son helped rescue the couple that lived inside.

“I heard a loud bang, I went to the back door, I looked and seen the back steps upside down,” Leroy McClain said.”Then I looked up the street and saw the trailer turned over.”

McClain and his son said they were there when sheriff’s deputies took the people out of the home.

“It had me shook up all over. I was nervous,” said McClain.

The neighbor also said he talked to the elderly couple at the hospital where they were expected to be released Friday afternoon.
