(WBTW) – A bicyclist was killed after being hit by a vehicle that left the scene near Johnsonville Tuesday evening.
According to Cpl. Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Hwy. 378 near Deep Creek Road around 6:30 p.m.
Troopers say a car traveling westbound on Hwy. 378 hit a bicycle from behind and left the scene.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken says the bicyclist died at the hospital. The victim is identified as Frederick Stuckey, 56, of Johnsonville.
According to Cpl. Collins the suspected driver in this case is Mack Allison a 54 year old man from Johnsonville. Allison was arrested yesterday on for hit and run, as well as driving with a suspended license.
