LAMAR, SC (WBTW) – Darlington County deputies responded to the second call in two weeks of shots being fired into two different homes in the Lamar community.

Lt. Robert Kilgo with the sheriff’s office says deputies were called to a home in the 500 block of Cartersville Highway Thursday evening around 7:45 p.m. Deputies say shots were fired into the home from a vehicle.

No one was hurt in the drive-by shooting, but deputies report this is the second Lamar home in less than two weeks to be shot into.

On Jan. 22, deputies were called to the 2300 block of Tomahawk Road Monday night around 9:30 p.m. Residents reported shots were fired into a home on the street but were unable to give deputies a description of the suspect.

The locations of the shootings are about 11 miles apart. Lt. Kilgo did not comment on whether the shootings may be related.

Anyone with information related to either shooting is asked to call the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office at 843.398.4501.
