SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A Surfside Beach woman says after playing the lottery for years, she finally hit it big.
“I never experienced anything like this,” she said just days after cashing in her winning scratch-off. “I’m so grateful to have had this experience.”
The woman won $275,000 off of a $10 Royal Jewel Jackpot scratch-off ticket that she purchased at the Piggly Wiggly off Highway 17, lottery officials report.
“Is this fake?” the woman recalls thinking when she discovered her winnings. “Am I dreaming?”
She says she’s played the lottery for years, winning several smaller prizes, but now…
“This is the most money I’ve ever had in my life!” she said, excited and grateful for the possibilities ahead.
Four top prizes of $275,000 remain in the $10 Royal Jewel Jackpot game, at odds of 1 in 750,000, according to lottery officials.
For selling the claimed ticket, Piggly Wiggly in Surfside Beach received a commission of $2,750.
